1. What is geofencing(Lab)?

Geofencing is a location-based service in which the app uses data from your mobile device to trigger a pre-programmed action when your mobile device enters or exits a virtual boundary set up around a geographical location, known as a geofence.

The beta version indicates that this function is a public beta function, because the geofencing function relies on mobile phone services, mobile phone positioning accuracy, system notification time, etc., the existing technical means cannot guarantee 100% triggering.

2. Why does the geofence automation not trigger?

After creating a geofence automation, you need to ensure that all the following permissions are enabled: location permission (for iOS14 and above, you also need to enable precise location services), background app refresh permission, and wireless data. Geofence triggering is network dependent, so your phone also needs to remain connected to the network when geofencing is triggered.

3. After replacing my phone, can the geofence still be triggered?

The geofencing function relies on the mobile phone service. When the mobile phone is replaced, the geofence automation needs to be re-created with the new mobile phone to trigger.

4. Tips for using geofence for arriving home and leaving home:

By setting the location of the geofence to the home location, you can easily realize the automation of arriving home and leaving home.

Because of the system notification delay and network delay, in order to avoid returning home and the geofence has not been triggered, the radius of the geofence can be set to more than 500 meters.

If you want to trigger 10 minutes before going home or trigger 10 minutes after leaving home, you can set the geofence on the way to go home/leave home, and it is estimated that it will take 10 minutes to reach the location of home.
